In 2003 three aspiring golfers: John Placek, Wayne Reisner and Joe Murray accompanied a traveling golf club on their annual trip to Myrtle Beach.
Tensions amongst the club elevated when players were concerned about someone not playing by the rules. This resulted in a surprise meeting in a condo at Brunswick Plantation. This is the moment when John "Hootie" Placek suggested we begin our own trip.
John joined another group on a trip to Ocean City. That group played a game called "Magic 36" to win a green jacket. This sparked the beginning of the Hack Master Golf Tournament.
John found the perfect green jacket and Joe designed a breast pocket patch in the likeness of The Masters logo. John booked our first trip to Brunswick Plantation and the Hooties Hackers Golf Club and Hack Masters Golf Tournament was born.
